Facing almost directly due west, we see the downtown Newton area in the immediate foreground. This was an exceptional day to be atop the grain mill. Visibility was nearly unlimited, giving a birds eye view of the horizon. |

Looking a few degress West from due South, we can see the local cell phone tower located near Newton Fire Station Two; three blocks from the antenna location. The intersection of 1st and Main is to the right of the tower. Mid-left; a part of the Friendly Acres Ritrement campus is visible. |

Looking to the southwest, we see one of the busier rail yards in the trans-continental maze of rail trans-portation. Directly in front we see all of downtown Newton. Once again, the conditions were right and visibility was incredible. |

BNSF Railroad. Bottom left is Walnut Street. This shot
is taken a very few degeees East from due South; showing

Looking
Northeast, the road going off into the distance is the old
route that U.S. Highway 50 took through the city. Locally this
is known as Old Trail Road until it merges with the present
U.S. 50 by-pass via I-135. What we actually see most visible
is the dual-rail main lines for the BNSF Railroad right-of-way. |
