The December 20, 2011 meeting of the Newton Amateur Radio Club met in the Board Room of the Newton Public Library. In attendance were Joe Brazell, Greg Brazell, Aaron Diller, John Goerzen, Jeanne Groves, Russll Groves, Marion Harper, Charles Meiesinger, Steve Pope, Kent Stutzman.

Meeting began at 7:05PM

Kent read minutes. Jeanne motioned, Charles 2nd and the minutes were accepted as read.

Old business: Aaron brought the Kansas Ultrarunners shirts for those that helped in the Heartland on the Prairie event. Some question was when the event was and it was thought to be the 2nd full weekend in October.

There was a discussion of any nominations for officers. Aaron made the motion, Jerry 2nd, unanimous vote to keep the present officers for 2012.

Jerry brought a project he had built, and the secretary failed to get what the item was. Some DIY work is beginning to show.

It was discussed to get with Dan ASAP to find a room to hold the Club's first testing session.

Other business: John went to the SATERN meeting in Valley Center. John now represents Harvey and Marion counties as their goto person to ask questions and become members of SATERN.

Henry Monton, W0IE, recieved the 2011 SATERN Shield Award for his response and availability to serve during the year. Congratulations to Henry! More can be found about the award at http://ksarrl.org/kar/SAT_Shield-W0IE.pdf.

Charles made a motion to donate $50 to K0HAM and $100 to K-Link. Discussion was for more to each , but we retained the amounts as part of the projected Club income. Jeanne 2nd, unanimously approved. Both checks were mailed.

Some discussion was held on the Bylaws, but no one at the meeting knew what we would want the format or proposed changes to be. It was tabled to the January 2012 meeting or a meeting of the officers before the January meeting.

Marianne, Library Director found the check for $5 for projector use in the bottom of a drawaer and has deposited it in the NPL account.
