The January 20, 2009 meeting was held in the Newton Public Library.  The meeting was called to order at 7:12pm by President Mike Harvey.  Present were Lee Buller, David Duerksen, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Marion Harper, Mike Harvey, Dan Inskeep, Joe Palmer, and Kent Stutzman.

Minutes: The December Minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report: Added $30 to checking from membership renewals plus deposited $40 from petty cash, for a new checking account balance of $626.13, and $15 in petty cash, for a total of $641.13.

Club Equipment:  Mike Harvey brought up an issue regarding club equipment, including the old 61 repeater, that has been loaned out or was being worked on and hasn't been returned yet.  There was discussion on the best ways to go about said equipment returned or accounted for.  Mike reported the current 61 repeater is having some issues, such that having the old 61 repeater available, as a backup, would be advantageous.  Dan Inskeep volunteered to look into the matter, and Mike will give him a list of items thought to be out.

Repeater:  The 61 repeater receive sensitivity is currently down.  Kent Stutzman made a motion that the club send the repeater in for repairs and tuning up before storm season.  The motion was seconded by David Godshall, and the motion passed unanimously.  While we will try to get the backup repeater back first, we may sent it in earlier, especially if if it takes longer than expected to get the backup repeater or get it working.

RACES: Kent Stutzman has stepped down as the Harvey County RACES liaison, so the position is available to anyone able and willing to take on the position.

Future Events:  The MCC Relief Sale will be April 17-18, 2009.

Club Website: The club website domain names are up for renewal, and Kent Stutzman has offered to renew the names for the club for free in lieu of this year's membership fee.  This was agreed to.

Kansas QSO Party: There is work underway trying to organize a Kansas QSO Party.  Kent Stutzman is working on a website for the effort.  It is being planned for September.

Worked All States Single Rover: Bob Harder talked about the article that was in the most recent QST magazine, describing the world's first Worked All States Single Rover award.  Over a period of around 10 years, Bob Harder traveled to every state in the United States and made radio contact with Nelson Kilmer in Kansas.

Field Day: June 27-28 this year.

Membership Renewals: Membership forms were handed out and a couple more memberships were renewed.  All memberships run from January through December, so all memberships are up for renewal.  Membership forms can also be printed from the website http://www.newtonarc.net/ under Club Information.

Meeting adjourned at 8:24pm.
