The May 19, 2001 meeting was held at Spear's Restaurant in Newton. The meeting was called to order at 9:12am by President Ron Farthing.

Present were Lon Buller, Dave Duerksen, Ron Farthing, Xon Fesling, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Roger Jost, Robin McDaniel, Roger and Dr. J. J. Wilson.

The April minutes were read without corrections.

Treasurer's Report: No change to balance of $960.09.

Repeater: Trustee Bob Harder wondered who was handling the coordination of the 61 repeater since he hadn't gotten any paperwork of contact for awhile. Ron Farthing confirmed that he has been listed as a contact person and had handled the coordination up to now, but Bob will probably be contacted next go around. Robin McDaniel passed around some 25-watt Yaesu and Icom repeater information he is looking at. There was some additional discussion about our current antenna vs. a commercial antenna. Lon is still planning on trying to get county funding for part of the repeater/antenna upgrade. Roger Wilson and Ron Farthing both expressed concern about 25-watts being powerful enough and would like Robin to look at some more powerful items.

Field Day: June 23-24 at Stutzman Retreat Center. Friday, 5pm will start setup. Contest starts 1pm Saturday. Will set up at least two stations within the cabin, others are welcome to set up outside stations. Final details will be discussed next meeting.

Web Site: David Godshall mentioned the new web site location -- www.newtonarc.net -- and encouraged people to visit the site and give Kent Stutzman feedback and articles for the site.

Meeting adjourned 9:53am.
