The November 18, 2008 meeting was held in the Newton Public Library.  The meeting was called to order at 7:07pm by President Dan Inskeep.  Present were Nick Aeschliman, David Duerksen, David Godshall, Marion Harper, Mike Harvey, Dan Inskeep, Joe Palmer, Bob Ogden, Kent Stutzman.

Minutes: The October Minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer's Report: No change -- checking account balance is $541.13, plus $25 in petty cash, for a total of $566.13.

Emergency Communication Center: Dan is asking for volunteers to help put the new pulley and fix the antenna on top of the EOC.  A number of people including Joe, Mike, Marion, and Nick volunteered to help if a time could be found that worked for them.  Thus Sunday morning seemed to work best for most -- show up around 10am to help.

Newton Festival of Lights: December 4th, the Parade starts 7pm, participants start arriving at 6pm, Amateur operators are asked to show up at 5:30pm to get organized and ready.

Skywarn Appreciation Day: December 6th.  Kent will send an e-mailing with the details.

Club Officers Nominations: Mike was nominated for President, Joe was nominated for Vice-President, no current nominations for Secretary/Treasurer.  Dan made a motion to accept these nominations, Kent seconded it, and the nominations were accepted by acclaim.

Orville Voth: Received an E-Mail from Orville's daughter letting us know that Orville became a silent key in September.  He had some radio equipment and an antenna she would like to find a new home for.  I forwarded the E-Mail with her telephone number to Dan and Kent who expressed an interest.

Club Memberships: David had membership forms for those wanting to renew early.  December and January are the usual months for membership renewals -- all memberships expire at the end of the year.

Meeting adjourned at 7:58pm.

-- David Godshall, Secretary/Treasurer
