The October 21, 2006 meeting was held at the Food Court at the Newton Factory Outlet Mall.  The meeting was called to order at 9:08am by President Dan Inskeep.  Present were Roni Allen, Ko Bartel, Fred Becker, Lee Buller, Aaron Diller, David Duerksen, Ron Farthing, David Godshall, Bob Harder, Marion Harper, Mike Harvey, Dan Inskeep, Bob Ogden, Roger Wilson.

Minutes: The September Minutes were accepted without corrections.

Treasurer's Report: No change.  Total of $418.69 in checking and $105 in petty cash, totaling $523.69 in club funds.

EOC Project: The 80m antenna is now tuned and working better.  The antenna on the roof is still leaning though not quite as badly since Dan added some shims.

Chrismas Parade: Newton's Festival of Lights will be early December, Roger thinks the 7th.

Railroad Interference: Dan has talked several times to the railroad about radio interference they are apparently causing.  Attempts to talk to the local railroad people have not produced any results, so Roger will take it up to the Kansas City people.

Club Equipment: We are compiling a list of club-owned equipment.  David will send an E-Mail to club members to start getting this list compiled.

Camp Hawk: Still no power, apparently they are waiting on the lawyers to finish an easement on the adjacent field so they can trench the power through it.  The tower climbing also hasn't happened yet.  Roger brought up the idea of getting a new callsign for the new Camp Tower installation of the repeater.  Bob Harder mentioned he has a Harvey County ARES callsign that could be used, unless they are left to expire in about a year or two.

Emergency Certification: Mike Harvey has taken the IS-100, 200, and M-700 and said they are pretty easy.  He's now working on the M-800 which is a little more in depth.  The link to the website with these emergency certification courses is available through newtonarc.net

Sweepstakes: The CQ worldwide sideband contest is next weekend.  Some new bands are becoming available but not in time for the immediately upcoming contests.

Project: Mike Harvey showed a bug key he built.

Meeting adjourned at 9:46am.
