	The October 21, 2008 meeting was held in the Newton Public Library. The meeting was called to order at 7:08pm by President Dan Inskeep. Present were David Duerksen, David Godshall, Dan Inskeep, Joe Palmer, Bob Ogden, Kent Stutzman. Minutes: The September Minutes were read and approved. Treasurer's Report: Paid $40 for Kansas State not-for-profit corporation annual report, received $30 from Mike Harvey for club dues and donation, leaving a checking account balance of $541.13, plus $25 in petty cash, for a total of $566.13. Wind Generator: Dan Inskeep has all the permits and permissions in place to put up a wind-powered electic generator up at his home. It should cost about $18,000 and generate an average of about 1.8KWh of electricity. MCC Flatlanders Bike Ride: Dan and David gave a report of the event. Dan Inskeep, David Godshall, and Aaron Diller manned a total of 4 stations, ranging from 8am until about 2:30pm. There were about 180 bicycle riders in the event. No emergencies were reported, the event went very smoothly. Valley Center Hamfest: Dan and Bob gave a little report on the recent Valley Center Hamfest. Emergency Communication Center: Dan has everything he needs to do the work to get the EOC radio and antenna working correctly and will be doing that in the near future, before it gets into winter weather. Antenna: Bob Ogden bought a new hustler antenna and he and Dan will be pounding a pipe into the group to mount the antenna. Club Elections: The November meeting will be a meeting to nominate officers, and the December meeting will be the election. David expressed a desire to let someone else be elected into the position of Secretary/Treasurer. Kent and Dan expressed a desire to let someone else be elected into the position of Vice-President and President. Meeting adjourned at 7:48pm. -- David Godshall, Secretary/Treasurer
