URGENT-NEED HAMS

STILL NEED OPERATORS week of== Monday May 14 ....through.... Friday May 18

Correction: A blog has mentioned that Central Kansas ARES was in control. The truth of the matter is that the District 6 EC Godfrey Flax, KC0AUH; had the Southwest Kansas ARES group. District 5 DEC Robert Haneke, WG0Q - took the focus of the initial response to allow District 6 members to mobilize.

Central KS ARES, or this website was a focal point for ham and public information as received. It was not, nor did it replace the official ARRL Kansas Section News. However, District 5 added personnel and equipment as part of the initial team response into the scene.

A service of citizen support from a group of trained communicators working together has made this reponse a success. Hams went in to a area of total destruction to assist in the maintenance and restoration of communications to the outside, without much news coverage or recognition. Flattery is best understood if silence to our service continues. The world still knows we are out here!!

COORDINATOR CHANGE: Robert Haneke will no longer be available in Haviland area to support our scheduling and hams. We will be changing the operation plan over the weekend to accommodate this change. I am scheduled to do a presentation at Dayton next weekend and in prep for that trip, I will be not be available after tomorrow.

DAILY HF NETS: Beginning Monday May 14th, we have decided to drop our three nets per day schedule, going to just TWO NETS -- 9:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. each day. Anyone is welcome to check in and relay.
